Warrior Addict is extremely proud to support The Sharanam Yoga Project, a non profit organization that brings yoga, meditation and its healing benefits a to trauma victims and populations at risk around the world. So far the charity has helped people in Marsaille and South Africa.
We have pledged to supply the project with over 700 pieces of Warrior Addict apparel which we will send all over the world. The apparel will be given out to the incredibly brave people, both men and women, that have been involved in conflict or trauma.
The Sharanam Yoga Project was created by our Brand Warrior, Ludovic Baussan and his partner Charlotte Kelberine.
Ludovic tells us more about the project and their story so far:
Our Story:
My life partner Charlotte and I share a passion and a deep knowledge of yoga. We listened to our inner voice, choosing to leave our corporate jobs to dedicate ourselves to social justice. Fascinated by the way some overwhelming experiences which we call traumas imprint themselves beyond what language can reach, we decided to use yoga as a modality of helping and healing.

Our Mission
Sharanam Yoga Project is a nonprofit organization aiming to make yoga & meditation and their healing benefits accessible to populations at risk and individuals who have been exposed to trauma.
Our Approach
In close collaboration with social justice and human health organizations, we set up yoga programs for people in precarious situations, including atrisk youth, women victims of domestic violence or sexual abuse, refugees and asylum seekers, prisoners and correctional officers, people recovering from addiction & mental health challenges, patients and hospital staff.

The project kickedoff in the Fall of 2018 and will continue over the course of 12 months in 5 destinations across Europe, Africa, and South America. We plan to settle for 8 weeks in each destination to:
● Develop partnerships with local social justice organizations and establish trustbased relationships with the vulnerable communities they support
● Craft and teach all traumainformed yoga classes with the help of a translator when necessary
● Ensure the continuity of the work by collaborating with a local yoga teacher and equipping the partner organization with the tools to pursue the program after we leave
● Raise awareness about the living conditions of trauma survivors and the effectiveness of yoga as an adjunct therapy for attenuating the symptoms of trauma by documenting and communicating on our actions
● Measure and report on our impact to our donors and partners

Sharanam Yoga Project is inspired by a growing body of scientific evidence that supports yoga as an effective adjunct therapy for attenuating the symptoms of trauma, and developing greater capacity for selfregulation and inner resilience.
As such, we aim to pass on mindbody tools for healing (including physical yoga postures, breath work, mindfulness exercises, journaling, emotional distress education, sharing circles) to people living in precarious conditions, who have been - and may still be - exposed to trauma, and may not have access these resources.

We identify facilities (e.g., hospitals, schools, daycare centers, shelters) where populations may benefit from traumaconscious mindbody techniques. We build new programs where yoga has not yet been utilized as a healing modality. We also expand and nourish existing yoga programs by training relevant stakeholders (e.g., yoga teachers, clinicians & staff, social workers) in such techniques.
We work hand in hand with each facility to establish a curriculum and a schedule tailored to their population’s needs; and classes are offered at no cost for the participants.
On an ongoing basis, we conduct participation assessments and checkin with the facility’s key stakeholders and students on the relevance of the program. Additionally, outtake questionnaires are used on an adhoc basis to evaluate the efficacy of each program, while obtaining information used in grant-writing initiatives.
